The Hardest Post I'm Going to Write

Postby KitKat » Sat Mar 20, 2010 3:59 pm

Hi everyone, but not you spam bots. ;)

Sorry I have been away, but I've been mulling over what to say, how to say, or if I'm going to say it.

On Feb. 13th my computer went belly up. Being the non computer tech person that I am I don't really know what's going on other than I get the "blue screen of death" when I boot up.

I still have my old computer and HDD, and I'm hoping that someday I will be able to retrieve everything from that old HDD and put it in my new computer. I hate to think I lost all my pictures, files, and so forth after five years.

Yeah the only "Princess Maker" thing on my new computer is a desktop pic of Cube from the official web site.

I seriously doubt I'll down load any more PM games for my computer (don't think they are Windows 7 compliant), and realizing this wonderful game will never get ported to the US (let alone an official English translation) makes me heart sink.

I also need to update the forums again but I don't know if I want to even though I did download the file needed to do.

Thank you everyone who has stuck around posting. If it were not for all of you, this place would be nothing.

Take care,

KitKat

So if I'm understanding this right, your computer died and you lost so many files that you can't even guess at entirely what you've lost, and you're feeling pretty bummed out about everything right now?

If so, that's a relief. When you say something like "hardest post I'm going to write", I tend to think that your family died, or you're going to shut the site down, or at least retire. Something like that. If it's just depression, then that's great. I mean, it's not great, but I'm sure you're going to pull through and feel 100% better soon enough.

And even if you did shut the site down, we'd all survive. There will always be plenty of opportunities for Princess Maker fans to gather, you just have to make sure you're on somebody's list so you get the memo if and when something interesting ever happens.

Also, is it just me, or does this sound like a challenge for those of us who aren't busy hibernating to out-do each other by posting Princess Maker-related data? 8)

Having your computer die suddenly like that is really awful. But you'll eventually recover from the slump! It happens to all of us. I hope you can recover everything safely. But like RO said, I'm glad that it wasn't anything awful that happened in your personal life.

I think the games still probably work with Windows 7. I don't have it myself but I remember when people were saying PM4 didn't work with Vista but worked flawlessly with me.

And perhaps the urge to play the PM games will come back to you someday. I understand that you can get burned out from these games sometimes. I'm currently taking a break from them myself(also due to a lack of someone to fangirl about them with SOBBB KAZE).

I really hope you can bounce back to us one day!

Okay time to be honest. Two weeks before my computer crashed (Jan. 25th) my Aunt Evie passed away from lung cancer. She was only fifty-nine, and it still hurts. It's gonna hurt for while especially for my mother who was her older sister. I'm not good at expressing myself in words, so I'll give you the link to my sister's blog: http://littlesweeper.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2010-02-01T00%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&updated-max=2010-03-01T00%3A00%3A00-06%3A00&max-results=4

Plus with my still new computer I'm leery of going to sites to download the game now.

I hope so. I need to update the forums with the latest update, so who knows...

Thank you and RO for the wonderful words of encouragement.

I know I'm very late in replying, but I have to agree the title really scared me and I thought it meant the end of the site and forums. However, not so happy to hear about what's happened in your absence.

I don't have too much to add except hugs and wishes to you...

But Princess Maker always be around. GLad to see you again. *hugs*
